The Legs of Lolth
Hargirn, though a significant dwarven city, is regarded as something of a backwater among the dwarven clans of the north. As the most isolated and exposed of the southern cities, Hargirn is less of an architectural wonder than Mekelthenâk or Marlode, and is militarized to a greater degree than its sister cities.
During the Long Winter of 1558-1560, Hargirn became known as the ‘City of Two Names’. Modern scholars believe that this is less a product of dwarf humor, and may have been related to the large amount of alcohol consumed by the city’s residents during its isolation.
