Keah (Eilir): woo!
Keah (Eilir): Where’s everyone else?
DM: We are short one Matt.
ElectricCaveman: Sam’s connecting.
Campaign saved.
ElectricCaveman: Any minor business to be dealt with while we wait for Matt?
Keah (Eilir): Don’t think so. Yesterday at work, though, I suddenly got the sneaking suspicion that Æthelmyr stole that young acolyte’s holy symbol last time, though.
Campaign saved.
DM is speaking :
Does anyone speak this?
Translated Sylvan: Does anyone speak this?
Æthelmyr is speaking :
I do! I do!
Translated Sylvan: I do! I do!
DM is speaking :
How many languages do you speak!?
Translated Sylvan: How many languages do you speak!?
Æthelmyr is speaking :
Draconic, Common, Sylvan, Celestial, Dwarven.
Translated Sylvan: Draconic, Common, Sylvan, Celestial, Dwarven.
‘Matt’ connected
Eilir is speaking :
I don’t speak Sylvan. :(
Translated Elven: I don’t speak Sylvan. :(
Xenia is speaking :
Me either. Although that first Aethelmyr text looks like "I did! I did!"
Translated Elven: Me either. Although that first Aethelmyr text looks like "I did! I did!"
DM is speaking :
I need to find creatures that speak languages that Aethelmyr does not…
Translated Orc: I need to find creatures that speak languages that Aethelmyr does not…
Xenia is speaking :
just saying
Translated Elven: just saying
Eilir is speaking :
Indeed.
Translated Orc: Indeed.
Eilir is speaking :
But she has Comprehend Languages as a spell, evidently. Question on that, though. That doesn’t allow you to also speak that language, does it?
Translated Orc: But she has Comprehend Languages as a spell, evidently. Question on that, though. That doesn’t allow you to also speak that language, does it?
Campaign saved.
Eilir is speaking :
Sam, I think she said "I do! I do!"
Translated Elven: Sam, I think she said "I do! I do!"
Æthelmyr: What do you do? I didn’t quite catch that.
DM is speaking :
True. We did that wrong with Jakka.
Translated Orc: True. We did that wrong with Jakka.
Sam (Xenia): so do we have a Matt ETA?
ElectricCaveman: He’s connecting already.
Sam (Xenia): wonderful
Eilir is speaking :
I know we haven’t identified the ring, but am I not allowed to speak it as well? I think I would know after using it.
Translated Orc: I know we haven’t identified the ring, but am I not allowed to speak it as well? I think I would know after using it.
DM is speaking :
You can speak orc.
Translated Orc: You can speak orc.
Eilir is speaking :
Okay.
Translated Orc: Okay.
Æthelmyr is speaking :
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
Translated Dwarven: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
Eilir: What, you speak Dwarven now?
DM is speaking :
No cryptography!
Translated Celestial: No cryptography!
Eilir: lol wingdings. That’s celestial, right?
Æthelmyr is speaking :
Hehe, sorry.
Translated Celestial: Hehe, sorry.
DM: Okay, we’re all here. When we quit last time, you’d just gotten your payment from Tungstan. Avaril was still at Moradin’s temple.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: Let’s go get Avaril and give him his share of the money and then get out of this place.
Æthelmyr: Agreed.
Eilir: Off we go then!
DM: Anything more in town, or shall we jump straight to the road?
Keah (Eilir): I’m ready to go.
Sam (Xenia): I don’t have anything else I want to do
Keah (Eilir): Thank the priests one more time, but that’s it for me.
Æthelmyr: I think it’d be a good idea to have some healing potions, but would there even be any?
Sam (Xenia): we have a super healy wand now.
Eilir: Xenia can brew some sometime, right? And we have that wand now.
Æthelmyr: Oh, I didn’t know Xenia could make some.
Æthelmyr: She should make some!
Æthelmyr: You should make some!
Xenia: Well, I just learned how. I’m eager to practice!
Æthelmyr: OK, let’s go.
Eilir: She’s a healer, isn’t she? What healer can’t make medicines?
Eilir: What’s next on the way to the desert, oh navigator?
Campaign saved.
Xenia: Map map map. Let us take a gander.
Xenia peers at map
Keah (Eilir): Do we have a map song like Dora the Explorer now?
Sam (Xenia): we are now walking and talking, yes?
Keah (Eilir): I would assume so.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Yes.
Sam (Xenia): thats the one I just sang in my head. haha
Keah (Eilir): lol I like Brian Regan’s rant on that.
[w] -> Xenia: the map is not detailed enough to have the exact route through the pass. It continues west, and probably up, but that’s all you can tell.
Xenia: I can’t really tell much from the map for this part of the country. Looks like….west…and up? Maybe? The map isn’t very clear or specific.
Eilir: Well, let’s head westward for a little while and get out of these mountains. Maybe we’ll see the desert from up here at some point.
Æthelmyr: I hope not. Deserts are supposed to be super hot and dry.
Æthelmyr: I kind of like how cool it is up here.
Eilir: That’s where we’re going.
Campaign saved.
Æthelmyr: And I’m going to enjoy every minute of the trip before we get there.
Æthelmyr: Unless we’re attacked by drow.
Æthelmyr: Or mountain cats.
Æthelmyr: Or kobolds.
Eilir: Or anything. Let’s go.
DM: You continue westward, up beyond the hills into the mountains.
Keah (Eilir): We were just in the hills? o.O
DM: The further you go, the worse condition of the road becomes, until it’s all but vanished.
DM: The town was just on the edge of the mountain range. You have the whole range to cross, yet.
Keah (Eilir): Oh. Well then we’d better get started.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: So… We’ve run out of road, looks like. Anyone know anything about mountains?
Eilir -> [ABILITY] Dexterity check [1d20+2 = 19]
DM: As the afternoon passes, you ascend the rest of the way into the saddle that marks the point where the pass enters the Spine proper. Large boulders scatter the low land, deposited by a glacier long since receeded.
Keah (Eilir): Knowledge (Geography)!
DM: that or survival
Keah (Eilir): My INT mod is the same as my DEX mod…
dublish (Æthelmyr): DEX check?
Keah (Eilir): My mind is very limber!
DM: Untrained knowledge maxes at 10 anyway.
Keah (Eilir): I know. So what do I know with my 10 that I probably read somewhere once?
Xenia: I’ve never been to the mountains, but my mom has told stories about her travels around this area.
Xenia -> [SKILL] Survival [1d20+4 = 5]
Sam (Xenia): I guess I didn’t listne well.
Æthelmyr -> [SKILL] Knowledge [1d20+4 = 5]
Æthelmyr: Did your mom tell you about the magical frost gremlins that steal travelers’ boots if they don’t eat their vegetables?
Æthelmyr: That’s what my mom told me.
Æthelmyr: I don’t think she was telling the truth though.
DM: Eilir knows about common dangers like altitude sickness and cold air, but not really any details about avoiding them. The rest of you are pretty clueless regarding mountain hazards.
Æthelmyr: Still.
Æthelmyr: Best eat your vegetables.
Eilir: She probably just told you that to get you to eat your vegetables.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: Alright, so… let’s take it easy, especially as we get higher up. The air gets thinner and stuff. But… I guess that doesn’t help with our trail problem. Are there any animal trails about?
Eilir -> [SKILL] Survival [1d20+1 = 14]
Æthelmyr -> [SKILL] Survival [1d20+1 = 17]
Xenia -> [SKILL] Survival [1d20+4 = 11]
DM: There is evidence of animals living in the area, but it’s hard to see any trails on the stony ground.
Keah (Eilir): Oh. Stone. Right…
Æthelmyr: OK, so just head west, right?
Eilir: Okay, so… let’s just keep going westward as best we can?
Æthelmyr: Uphill?
Eilir: We have to go uphill to go back downhill on the other side.
DM: The path ahead, though, is fairly obvious. The sides of this saddle are steep, and the floor of it is level and fairly easy going.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: Let’s go that-away!
Eilir points.
Xenia: I agree. Easy path away!
Eilir: Keep an eye out for falling rocks. That could signal a rockslide or something possibly worse.
Eilir: We should keep an eye out for animals to hunt, too, at some point.
Keah (Eilir): I’m just walking and talking at this point.
Keah (Eilir): Stop watching Firefly! You own it! Even if the DVDs don’t have the little commentary snippits.
ElectricCaveman: I’m not watching it. The commentary snippits are recording.
Sam (Xenia): david and I started watching BSG today.
Keah (Eilir): BSG?
Matt (Avaril the Average): Battlestar Galactica. Dick.
Sam (Xenia): battlestar galactica
Matt (Avaril the Average): Also how do you know what he’s doing? That’s weird and creepy.
Keah (Eilir): oh.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Just watch the miniseries and the first season or two.
Keah (Eilir): peter and i share a brain!
Matt (Avaril the Average): Sam: It starts out pretty alright. Then it gets GOOD. Then it gets GREAT. Then it kind of becomes a little bit of notsogood.
Æthelmyr: We continue across the Spine.
Sam (Xenia): haha. this is an established fact.
Campaign saved.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Hey Sam? Have fun trying to guess the cylons, and enjoy having YOUR FUCKING MIND BLOWN WHEN YOU FIND OUT WHO THEY ARE.
DM: You proceed down the rocky valley floor. After about a mile or so, you get to make a spot check.
Eilir -> [SKILL] Spot [1d20+1 = 15]
Æthelmyr -> [SKILL] Spot [1d20+4 = 12]
Avaril the Average -> [SKILL] Spot [1d20+7 = 23]
Keah (Eilir): Yay! Go dice go! We’re having a good night. [^_^]
Sam (Xenia): shut up matt. I only watched the pilot. And its hard enough stopping myself from making david tell me what happens.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Looks like fuck you.
Xenia -> [SKILL] Spot [1d20+4 = 14]
Matt (Avaril the Average): No Sam, I’m not going to tell you what happens. No one is. You have to fucking watch. Shit was really good for a while.
Keah (Eilir): it’s one of the ones i haven’t gotten to yet.
Keah (Eilir): is stargate the one i should avoid?
[TOWER] GM -> [SKILL] Hide [1d20+6 = 14]
Matt (Avaril the Average): No fuck you SG1 is great.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Watch the movie.
Sam (Xenia): David liked it okay. But he says they canceled it just as he reeally started to like it.
Keah (Eilir): i thought there was a series to avoid. i guess it was the later BSG stuff.
Matt (Avaril the Average): It’s fun and hilarious, the way a scifi should SHOULD be. Until they topple the Gould. Then you can quit watching. HOLLOWED ARE THE AURI!
[w] -> Avaril the Average: you notice a smallish copper dragon watching you from on top of one of the larger boulders.
Keah (Eilir): Hollowed or hallowed?
[w] Avaril the Average: Can I tell any disposition or anything?
Sam (Xenia): nevermind I misquoted. SG1 is awesome, says david. SGU they canceled too soon.
Avaril the Average (whispered): Uh, you guys speak Draconic, right?
Matt (Avaril the Average): SG1 = great. SGA = worse than cancerousaids.
Xenia: NoooOooo?
Eilir: Æthelmyr does.
Xenia: Aethelmyr does, if you remember from ohhh, the last week?
Eilir: Why?
Avaril the Average (whispered): Wait for a moment. Act like you’re taking a break.
Æthelmyr (whispered): Yes, I do. Why are we whspering?
Æthelmyr stops.
Avaril the Average (whispered): Anyone know how good a dragon’s hearing is?
Eilir: I stop, drop my pack and rub my shoulders.
Xenia pauses and bends down to tie her shoe
Eilir -> [SKILL] Knowledge (Arcana) [MOD:INT] [1d20+4 = 24]
Keah (Eilir): Who good is a dragon’s hearing, Peter? XD
Keah (Eilir): What a waste of a nat 20.
Matt (Avaril the Average): whowasphone
Campaign saved.
[w] -> Avaril the Average: It’s crouched low on a boulder, a couple hundred feet away, staring at your group. That’s about all you can tell at this distance.
Keah (Eilir): Sam, your shoes don’t tie.
Keah (Eilir): Maybe they do… they could tie in the back. >.>
Sam (Xenia): I pick a rock out of them, then. haha
Æthelmyr is becoming visibly excited and may need to be stopped from doing something rash.
DM: It’s really good.
Eilir: Settle down, Æthelmyr.
Eilir: Avaril, what colour is it? Maybe it’s friendly.
Æthelmyr (still): whispering Where’s a dragon? Do you see a dragon?
dublish (Æthelmyr): Oops.
Æthelmyr (still whispering): I don’t see any dragons!
Avaril the Average (whispering): Yes. A copperish one over there.
Avaril the Average nods his head very slightly.
Avaril the Average (whispering): I don’t know what it wants but it’s just sitting there. Not doing much. Watching us.
Eilir: Copper ones are alright, I think. let’s keep moving and see what happens.
Æthelmyr: waves excitedly at the dragon.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Damn it.
Æthelmyr waves excitedly at the dragon.
[w] Eilir: Can that knowledge check count for any other info on copper dragons? Or should I roll another?
Eilir: Oh gods…
[w] -> Eilir: you can use it for other info
[w] Eilir: then i would like to know about the dispositions of copper dragons and anything else pertinent to that.
Æthelmyr: Oh, hush. I’m sure it knows we’re not here to hurt it.
Xenia: Oh wow. A dragon. A dragon. Meeting a dragon. Big copper dragon. Dragon oh my goddess. Oh-kay, breeeeath, Xenia. Calm breaths.
Æthelmyr: I KNOW, right?
Æthelmyr: This is soooooo cool.
Eilir: You’re starting to sound like Æthelmyr.
Æthelmyr: I’ve never met a dragon before.
Æthelmyr: Should we keep going?
Matt (Avaril the Average): It’s not big.
Matt (Avaril the Average): It’s "smallish."
Xenia: a hah ha hahaha I think we might not be on quiiiite the EXACT same page.
Æthelmyr: Do you think it’ll mind if we say hello?
Matt (Avaril the Average): Hence the spot check. If it were a dragon it probably wouldn’t hide so well.
Keah (Eilir): I don’t think the rest of us can see it.
Xenia laughs somewhat strangely
dublish (Æthelmyr): Lulz.
Campaign saved.
Keah (Eilir): i’m getting info on knowledge, i think. one sec.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Oh, right, none of us have spotted it. Time to change things a bit…
[w] -> Eilir: They are generally chaotic good, but like jokes and pranks. They have earth-related innate abilities, including the ability to climb any solid stone surface, and can breathe acid and a gas that slows its victims.
Æthelmyr (whispering again): Avaril, are you sure there’s a dragon? I don’t see it.
Æthelmyr (whispering again): You’re not yanking my tail, are you?
Eilir: If it’s actually a copper dragon, we should be fine. They’re just jokesters.
Eilir: Let’s keep going and see what happens.
Eilir picks up her pack again.
Æthelmyr: If it’s really there, I hope it does something.
Æthelmyr: I want to see a DRAGON.
Eilir: I wouldn’t mind seeing a friendly dragon. But just ANY dragon could be problematic. Come on.
Xenia: I want to see a dragon…from far away.
Æthelmyr reluctantly presses on, trying extra hard to catch a glimpse of the dragon.
DM: As you set off, the dragon runs down the side of its boulder perch and towards you quickly. It glances around frequently as it makes its way toward you.
Æthelmyr is speaking :
Hello!
Translated Draconic: Hello!
Æthelmyr: I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself, its a DRAGON!
Eilir: Don’t a lot of dragons speak Common, too?
Dragon is speaking :
Hello, cousin!
Translated Draconic: Hello, cousin!
Campaign saved.
Sam (Xenia): insert earlier panic attack here
Dragon: Yes.
Eilir tries to say "hello" in Draconic.
Æthelmyr is speaking :
What’s your name? My name’s Æthelmyr.
Translated Draconic: What’s your name? My name’s Æthelmyr.
Dragon: We’re clever like that.
Æthelmyr: Oh!
Æthelmyr: Heh.
Æthelmyr: I probably should have guessed.
Eilir: Is there something we can do for you, uh…?
Dragon: Are you the ones the kobolds were talking about this morning?
Dragon: You look like them.
Æthelmyr: Kobolds! Did they make it out alright?
Eilir: We had a run-in with some kobolds recently.
Dragon: You ask a lot of questions.
Dragon: Yeah, I guess they were okay.
Æthelmyr: Do I?
Æthelmyr: Oh, um.
Eilir: She does.
Æthelmyr: I mean, yes.
Æthelmyr: I do.
Æthelmyr: Sorry.
Dragon: Anyway. You drove them off, right? Can you help me?
Eilir: Are they bothering you?
Dragon: No, kobolds are harmless. They know I’m better than them.
Dragon: It’s the orcs.
Æthelmyr: Necromancer orcs?
Eilir: Ah. That… actually doesn’t surprise me at this point.
Dragon: Necromancers? Not that I know of.
Æthelmyr: Oh, good.
Dragon: But they hunt dragons! And they’re after me!
Eilir: The kobolds an the town they were near were beset by an orc necromancer recently, is why she asks.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: Oh dear. Well, um… We should keep moving. This isn’t the best spot to get caught, if they’re up there.
Eilir points up to where the dragon came from.
Æthelmyr: Well, that just won’t fly.
Æthelmyr: I vote we stop the orcs!
Eilir: Agreed, but let’s find a better spot before they find us.
Æthelmyr: How many are there?
Dragon: Eleven.
Æthelmyr whistles.
Eilir: That’s a lot.
Dragon: I think I saw a spot earlier. I have a plan, but there are too many of them for me to face alone, and if I fly to get away, their tracker will shoot me down!
Æthelmyr: Lead the way!
Eilir: We’ll go there, then, and hear your plan. What’s your name, by the way?
Dragon: I don’t think you could say my name right… what’s a good Common name?
dublish (Æthelmyr): Bob.
Eilir: Copper is the first thing that comes to mind, but that’s about the equivalent of calling you Dragon…
Keah (Eilir): kyle, was that really out of character? XD
dublish (Æthelmyr): I haven’t decided yet.
Keah (Eilir): can we call him Moogy?
dublish (Æthelmyr): OK.
Æthelmyr: Let’s call him Bob!
Campaign saved.
Eilir: That… is a very common name.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Is the dragon male or female?
Matt (Avaril the Average): Is it really? Fantasyland.
Keah (Eilir): bob is short for so many things, even more if you add in fantasy names.
Dragon: Bob is good, if it’s a really Common name.
dublish (Æthelmyr): I assume Robert is a legitimate fantasy name.
Keah (Eilir): and i decided it is, so there. world building.
[w] Avaril the Average: Which book did you say the Summon Undead I creatures were? I haven’t found it yet in my skimming of what I have.
Eilir: Alright, Bob it is. Lead on, Bob.
dublish (Æthelmyr): It’s in Song of Ice and Fire.
Dragon I think Heroes of Horror. I’ll double-check.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Yeah, some obscure book no one’s ever heard of or even read. Fuck that shit.
Dragon: ah, wrong button
[w] -> Avaril the Average: I think Heroes of Horror. I’ll double-check.
[w] Avaril the Average: I’ve got it. I’ll check.
Keah (Eilir): So Bob’s a schizo meta dragon, eh?
dublish (Æthelmyr): Yeah, and nobody would dream of making a TV show out of it.
[w] -> Avaril the Average: either that, or libris mortis seems likely
Keah (Eilir): Or have a college-level fantasy literature class read it.
[w] Avaril the Average: It’s in there. Now I have to template them up I suppose. Shit.
[w] -> Avaril the Average: which are they? I probably already have them.
Dragon: Okay. This way.
Eilir: follows Bob.
[w] Avaril the Average: 1st level: Human Warrior Skeleton or Kobold Zombie.
[w] -> Avaril the Average: yeah, they’re both in the fg library
[w] Avaril the Average: Very well. That works if I need to use it.
Campaign saved.
Dragon leads you to the side of the valley, a little ways back east.
Eilir: Do you know these mountains well?
Bob: Nope. I’m on the run. I’m going to go to the other side of the mountains, and get away from these orcs for good.
Æthelmyr: Did the orcs come from the desert?
Bob: But they hunt dragons up here, too. They know the mountains better than me.
Bob: No, they live in the hills over here. I did, too, but I’m leaving.
Eilir: Which side? We’re headed to the desert in the west.
Bob: That’s where I’m going!
Eilir: Well, you may as well come with us. Perhaps we can help each other along the way.
Æthelmyr: Are there many dragons in the mountains?
DM: Bob the dragon (thank you for not naming him Puff) takes you to a narrow side valley, little more than a deep trough cleared out by a landslide.
Eilir: This whole orc dragon-hunting thing is making me wonder about this sickle I picked up.
Bob: I don’t know. I guess. White ones, and silver ones like your kin. Some red ones live up here, too.
Keah (Eilir): We could have named him Blarg, like Daniel did that one time.
Æthelmyr: Oh, I don’t think I want to see one of those.
Campaign saved.
Æthelmyr: So set an ambush here?
Eilir: Hm… I wonder if we could psych them out a bit with Ghost Sound…
Bob: Yeah. The sides are dirt, so I won’t be able to climb out. But they’ll know that, so they might actually come.
Bob: See those two boulders there, close together? I can put a figment there to make them look like one, and hide you inside. If the orcs are chasing me, they shouldn’t notice.
Eilir: Alright.
ElectricCaveman: For the record, this encounter was planned before Aethelmyr became a concept known to me.
Keah (Eilir): ha
dublish (Æthelmyr): All the same, thank you. I’m enjoying this.
Matt (Avaril the Average): What record?
Bob: And then, if you can get them from behind and keep their leader and the grunts busy, I think I can take out the two main hunters. And the narrow sides should help us.
Matt (Avaril the Average): We have records?
Keah (Eilir): THE record.
ElectricCaveman: Yeah, the official logs on OP. They’re official.
Eilir: Alright, so we hide between the boulders until the orcs come, and then surprise them? That sounds easy.
Campaign saved.
Keah (Eilir): Peter, can we have a map so I can visualise this?
dublish (Æthelmyr): Also, have we gotten any XP lately?
ElectricCaveman: I gave you xp for everything but the kobold leader’s group. I need to do that.
Keah (Eilir): That won’t level us, will it?
dublish (Æthelmyr): I doubt it, we’re still 1000xp short.
ElectricCaveman: no
DM: Okay - map.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Is there keystroke combination to minimize/restore all these windows?
ElectricCaveman: I don’t know of one.
Keah (Eilir): Okay. Glad I asked for a map, because I thought the boulders were IN the ravine.
Campaign saved.
DM: The boulders and side bit should be obvious enough. The middle bit is sloped (higher ground at the top of the map). The very top part is where it becomes steep enough to require climb checks.
Keah (Eilir): Okay.
DM: My dragon token doesn’t get small enough :(
Matt (Avaril the Average): Not a problem most men would complain about.
Keah (Eilir): lolmatt
Keah (Eilir): ohgod
dublish (Æthelmyr): What’s the penalty when you’re squeezing into tight spaces?
Keah (Eilir): You can scale tokens individually, right?
ElectricCaveman: yes. I got it done.
ElectricCaveman: -4 on attacks and ac, plus half speed, Kyle.
Eilir: Alrighty, so I’m gonna just set my backpack down here…
Keah (Eilir): So that I am no longer encumbered.
Campaign saved.
Eilir: And I’ll bring out my bow. And I think I’m ready.
Eilir: Remember, Æthelmyr, we need to stay quiet until we’re actually ready to surprise the orcs for this to work right.
Bob: Should I hide you and lure the orcs in?
Æthelmyr pantomimes locking her lips with a key.
Eilir: Everyone ready?
Æthelmyr nods.
Bob: Stay close in. If you touch the illusion, they’ll be able to see you.
Eilir: Hm… Hey Avaril, why not cast Mage Armour on Bob before we start this?
Bob focuses for a bit, and the illusion flashes into being, arching over your heads.
Avaril the Average: Because he’s probably formidable and far more unlikely to get greviously injured than any of you. How many times have we lost most of our combined blood?
Campaign saved.
Eilir: I’m doing alright on blood now.
Eilir: This is cool…!
DM: Since you know it for what it is, you can see through the illusion. It’s little more than a light mist or clear stained-glass image, superimposing the false over a normal view of the world.
Eilir: Still cool.
Bob slinks away.
[w] Æthelmyr: Added an entry for Hargirn on the wiki. It’s slightly amusing.
[w] -> Æthelmyr: I’ll check it out later.
DM: A few minutes pass in tense quiet. Then, quite suddenly, you hear the shouts of orcish voices and what can only be Bob roaring back in challenge. The tumult is getting closer.
Campaign saved.
Bob appears quite suddenly from behind the general rubble of the valley floor, winging his way dangerously close to the ground.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Matt got the masterwork spear from Jakka, right?
Keah (Eilir): I don’t remember.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Did I? Who the fuck is Jakka?
DM: A few moments later, almost a dozen orcs can be seen running full-tilt after him.
Keah (Eilir): The orc lady we killed.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Necromancer Orc.
Sam (Xenia): I have it. I think.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Almost a dozen like 11?
Keah (Eilir): 11 is almost a dozen.
DM: Most of them have basic armor and shields, with sickles and javelins. Three are better equipped.
DM: The obvious leaders pause briefly when the see the cornered dragon, then continue the attack.
Keah (Eilir): I see no orcs.
Matt (Avaril the Average): The fuck is this note?
Keah (Eilir): Kyle is introducing herself.
DM: Roll inits while I place them
dublish (Æthelmyr): It’s been sitting there for weeks, and I just noticed the share button.
Campaign saved.
Xenia -> [INIT] [1d20+1 = 18]
Eilir -> [INIT] [1d20+2 = 6]
Æthelmyr -> [INIT] [1d20+3 = 15]
Keah (Eilir): Poo.
Keah (Eilir): Add 10 to that roll! 2PP.
Avaril the Average -> [INIT] [1d20+2 = 8]
Keah (Eilir): So the slayer and the shamman are the leaders?
dublish (Æthelmyr): I’d watch out for the tracker as well.
DM: Presumably.
Campaign saved.
Keah (Eilir): We’re supposed to keep the back group busy.
[ROUND 1]
[TURN] Copper Dragon, Young
Keah (Eilir): Please add 10 to my initiative.
Keah (Eilir): Thank you.
Keah (Eilir): Go Bob! Breath attack!
dublish (Æthelmyr): I’m getting close to 8 points, I need to think about a familiar again.
Keah (Eilir): I’m going to use 6 to up my STR eventually, but I want a couple more to use to save my life first.
DM: [SAVE] Fortitude [1d20+4 = 11]
dublish (Æthelmyr): That cone looks weird.
Bob blasts the collected orcs with a cone of dark gas breath.
Keah (Eilir): It does. But it’s the shadow that counts the targets, not the actual lines.
Keah (Eilir): Mmmm… dragon breath.
Æthelmyr is consumed by intense jealousy. Fortunately, she stays quiet.

[TURN] Xenia
Matt (Avaril the Average): So was he bullshitting when he said he couldn’t take them alone?
Keah (Eilir): Can’t breath weapon every turn. It’s like hyper beam. Gotta recharge.
ElectricCaveman: Statistically, he should have only gotten 2/3 of those. And you haven’t seen the ones who succeeded fight.
Sam (Xenia): Mmm. Can we tell just from looking at the Orcs which 3 are special/different/in charge?
Campaign saved.
Keah (Eilir): CLothing.
DM: They’re better equipped.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Yeah, they’re the ones that are different.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Oh, in game.
Keah (Eilir): Whatcha gonna do, Sam?
Sam (Xenia): I’m counting squares…and we are too far for me to cast anything. boo
Keah (Eilir): Can you buff any of us? That’s always a viable option, since we’re all so close.
[w] Eilir: He said not to touch it, so if I shoot an arrow through the illusion, that gives us away, right?
Sam (Xenia): Yeah, I can do that. Do I know who needs a will save buff most?
Sam (Xenia): not a huge help.
Keah (Eilir): You have Owl’s Wisdom?
Sam (Xenia): oh, no, its Resistance. +1 for all saving throws. I misread.
[w] -> Eilir: Not necessarily. Figments can create a visual barrier, but not a visual replacement. If you were actually taking the same space as the illusion, it couldn’t hide you. So the arrow would be visible when it touched the figment, but that wouldn’t really matter, since it would be shortly after that anyway.
[w] -> Eilir: It would let them know something was out of the ordinary, anyway. Which would count as interaction and give them the will save.
[w] Eilir: Okay
Campaign saved.
dublish (Æthelmyr): I could mage armor anyone with less than 4 armor AC.
Keah (Eilir): I was gonna say, if you have Owl’s Wisdom, you could use it to increase the saves vs your own spells.
Keah (Eilir): I think that’s everyone.
Xenia -> [CAST] Resistance [at Æthelmyr]
Keah (Eilir): Resistance would be useful against the shamman. Or you can delay, too, if you want to see what they do.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Sam, what happened to your super bitchin’ dragon armor? Or are you wearing it?
Sam (Xenia): I’m wearing it!
dublish (Æthelmyr): Also, thank you.
Keah (Eilir): Oh yeah!
Keah (Eilir): Sam, you can check everyone’s saves in the party sheet, too.
Sam (Xenia): oh I always forget htat exists.
[TURN] Tornclaw Orc Hunter 16
[w] Eilir: What would happen if I went through the side of the illusion behind us (the back of the rocks?)
[w] -> Eilir: They would still be able to see you through the illusion if they were looking, since it’s all one figment.
Campaign saved.
[w] Eilir: alright.

Æthelmyr nearly freaks out when a skeleton appears next to her.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Do I make its attacks or does it?
ElectricCaveman: Do your summoned undead get weapons, or just natural weapons?
Matt (Avaril the Average): It doesn’t say. It just says it summons either A or B.
DM: You can give it direction, but not directly control it. You can toss the dice, if you want, though.
DM: I’ll give it the weapon, then.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Nah.

DM: I need to figure out how to do that on PC characters

DM: Either way, it worked on two of them.
Keah (Eilir): you don’t put anything into your spell window’s concentration mod unless you have combat casting. then you put in 4.
ElectricCaveman: That would do it
Keah (Eilir): it automagically uses your concentration skill mod already.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Yeah, I thought it was asking for the concentration modifier, so I put my skill check in there.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Peter, can you do the effects? I don’t know how many HD these guys have.

Keah (Eilir): XP
DM: The orc withdraws, and runs from the battle at a break-neck pace.
dublish (Æthelmyr): Matt? Save us from the danger we’ve yet to notice.
[TURN] Avaril the Average
Keah (Eilir): Matt hasn’t even made a spot check. Unless he did it in the tower.
Campaign saved.
Sam (Xenia): sometimes I wish FG made a bleepy sound as chat notifications. Because spamming someone to get htere attention is not useful on here.
Keah (Eilir): this is true. or if im in another window doing something, i don’t know that stuff is goign on.
Matt (Avaril the Average): Spot check?
Matt (Avaril the Average): Whoops.
Matt (Avaril the Average): I didn’t read that line, I thought it was more damage.
Avaril the Average -> [SKILL] Spot [1d20+7 = 21]
Matt (Avaril the Average): I see it.
[w] -> Avaril the Average: You notice that the orcs’ wounds are starting to slowly heal themselves, even the one that is dying.
Keah (Eilir): But what do you see? And will you tell us about it?
Avaril the Average: Weird.
Avaril the Average: Very odd.
Avaril the Average: Very quite weird and odd.
Avaril the Average: How interesting.
Avaril the Average: Strange, and at the same time, interesting.
Eilir: What is?
Avaril the Average: While still maintaining oddity and weirdness.
Avaril the Average: Well, if you’ll notice. These orcs?
Avaril the Average: Look where you’ve cut this one. See how that cut is missing?
Eilir: Uh…
DM: You look, and sure enough, its wounds are closing before your eyes. Slowly, but noticably.
Eilir: They’re… regenerating?
Keah (Eilir): Matt, you should probably do something. I think our 6s of talking are up.
Campaign saved.
Avaril the Average: I flip of Eilir and spit upon her.
Matt (Avaril the Average): IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED!?

Keah (Eilir): why would you do that? dickwad.
Matt (Avaril the Average): BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME TO
Avaril the Average: That is my movement.

Keah (Eilir): Ah. I was just looking at health. Sorry.
Keah (Eilir): Looks like dragon’s coming to sam, though. Sacred Boost time, Sam!
Keah (Eilir): Or he’s breath attacking.
dublish (Æthelmyr): I think that’s a 60ft line of x.
Bob uses his other breath weapon! A line of acidic dragon breath rolls over several of the orcs!

Xenia: Are you sure, Bob? Will you be okay a bit longer?
Bob: I’m fine! Kill the shaman! I’ll deal with this archer.
ElectricCaveman: What are you three doing with your movement markers?
Xenia: I hate this arrow thing. I move like that, but to the left a square, so I go around people.
Sam (Xenia): somehow, my mouse was hovering over 1 square, and the arrow line was moving 3 squares above me. grrrr. anyways.
